Engineers need to explore new computing paradigms to fuel future performance advances.

Since the beginning of electronic computers, we have made choices, and each choice became enshrined. Computers perform programs, programs calculate numbers to a given accuracy, programs run one instruction after another, etc. Can we build computers in a fundamentally different way, to operate on very different algorithms and programming languages than we have today?
