Prasad Tetali

Biography
Prasad Tetali got his Ph.D. from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, NYU, and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Mathematical Sciences Center at AT&T Bell labs (Murray Hill, NJ), before joining Georgia Tech in 1994. He is a Professor in the School of Mathematics, with a joint appointment in the School of Computer Science at Georgia Tech. As of April 2011, he is also the Director of Algorithms & Randomness Center and ThinkTank at Georgia Tech. He is a SIAM Fellow (2009) and has been the Editor-in-Chief of the SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics since 2009. His research interests span theoretical computer science, discrete mathematics, probability and functional analysis, and he has been affiliated with Georgia Tech's Ph.D. program in Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization (ACO). Outside of topics of mathematical nature, he is passionate about increasing general awareness of mood disorders and other disabilities.
