Network Could Help Disaster Communications

When major disasters strike, communication systems have a proclivity to fail. College of Computing researchers led by Santosh Vempala (Computer Science) have proposed a solution: LifeNet, a mobile ad-hoc network requiring no infrastructure such as cell towers or traditional landlines.
