MS InfoSec Online – Program of Study

The Master of Science in Information Security (MS InfoSec) is a 32 semester-hour program. Each student is required to take a set of core courses, a practicum and one of two concentrations (technology or policy). The core is composed of 7 courses, and the concentrations are three courses tailored to the student needs and desires but are focused on technological or policy. The breakdown of the program is:

  1. Fixed core of 23 semester hours
  2. Specialization of 9 semester hours

  • CS 4235 Introduction to Information Security
  • CS 6260 Applied Cryptography
  • CS 6238 Secure Computer Systems
  • CS 6262 Network Security
  • CS 6265 Information Security Laboratory
  • CS 6725 Information Security Strategies and Policies
  • CS 8902 Practicum/Project/Research (5 credit hours)

Specializations (9 semester hours)

Technology Centric

Choose three courses from the following or a different course with approval from the MS Information Security Program Coordinator.

The College's master's degree requirements supplement the Institute's master's requirements listed in the Georgia Tech Catalog. Students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.0 to graduate, and no course grade below C will count toward graduation.
